Forecast Discussion:

After a streak of very wet and cool weather, the Spring season will end on a much drier note and somewhat warmer during the afternoons. Still though, jackets may be in hand for the start of each day with temperatures in the 30s in the Adirondacks and Northeast Kingdom Wednesday and Thursday mornings, with 40s elsewhere. This time of the year boasts 15.5+ hrs of sunshine and that will allow temperatures to rise into the 70s after the cool starts, via a mostly sunny sky.

The first day of Summer is Friday and coincidentally temperatures will push toward 80 degrees for the first time since June 2. High temperatures will remain near 80 or above through early next week, along with muggier conditions. Due to extra heat/moisture Saturday through Tuesday, there will be a daily chance of afternoon pop-up showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise each day will be partly cloudy.

Friday: First day of Summer! Partly cloudy, with an isolated mountain shower. Highs near 80. SW wind 5-10.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows 50-58. Light wind.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, widely sct'd afternoon showers/storms. Highs 78-85. South/southwest wind 5-15 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, chance of isolated afternoon showers/storms. Lows 58-64. Warm, highs near 85. Southerly wind 5-15 mph.

Monday: Partly cloudy and very warm. Isolated pop up shower/storm in the afternoon. Highs 83-90.
