Forecast Discussion:

*Flooding will be likely along area rivers. Please monitor carefully and seek higher ground immediately if you notice rising water.*

A slow moving cold front will cross the entire area by Friday evening, allowing for a blustery and chilly air mass to settle in. Intermittent rain showers will be possible Friday with light amounts. The rain shower threat will last into Saturday morning too with additional rain amounts likely.

An area of low pressure will become cut off from the jet stream and stall along southeastern New England. This is going to keep our weather unsettled, cold Sat & Sun. Steady rain will develop Sat & Sat night with more than 1" rain possible. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow in the mountains > 2,000' and snow accumulation > 2,500'. The mountain peaks could get several inches of wet snow by Sunday morning.

Conditions will improve Sunday while remaining cool & breezy. Memorial Day will be warmer & sunnier. The rest of next week will be warmer.

Forecast:

Friday: Mostly cloudy, showers remain. Temperatures 44-52. North wind 5-15 mph.

Friday Night: Scattered rain showers, mainly cloudy. Lows 40-46. Northwest wind 5-15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers, especially in the afternoon. Some snow mixes in over 2,500'. Cold and blustery. Highs 40-50. Northwest wind 10-20 mph.

Saturday Night: Occasional showers, mostly cloudy. Some snow mixed in over 2,000'.  Lows 36-44. Northwest wind 5-10 mph.

Sunday: Morning showers, then decreasing late day clouds. Cool, highs nea
