Spring is near (or here, depending on when you read this!)
The Vernal Equinox for the northern hemisphere is March 20th, 2013. More specifically for our area at 7:02am EDT.
The Vernal Equinox marks the exact moment when the sun crosses over the Equator as it continues it journey from south to north- this means the sun becomes more overhead in our sky. This is all due to the Earth's tilt, don't forget, and it's rotation around the sun.
On the equinox, we enjoy nearly equal day and night... we have 12 hours and 7 minutes of daylight Wednesday.
Spring will start off with just below average temperatures and occasional snow showers and flurries. Check your full forecast by clicking here.
