EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. -
The snowfall is a windfall for those who love seasonal sports.
So Tuesday night there's a celebration mixing with the snow in the air.
Businesses right on the snowmobiling trails are thrilled as are the folks who groom and maintain them.
"The snowmobilers during the season bring a lot of business," Mackenzie Palana, of C.P Dudley Store in East Montpelier, Vt., said. "They stop by not just for gas because we are on the trail which helps, but we have deli food."
"The spine of the Green Mountains, Woodford, Manchester, Rochester, Bethel, Braintree, Barnard these areas have incredible conditions as we speak so if we get another foot of snow it's gonna be better," Alexis Nelson, Executive Director of VAST, said.
Nelson says snowmobiling clubs usually groom the trails and that can happen within 24 hours of a good snowfall like this one.
