Late Season Snow Storm May Put Damper On Spring Ice Cream Sales

COLCHESTER, Vt. -

Although it may not look like it, spring begins Wednesday, and some ice cream shops say this snow may not be good for business.

Employees were busy Tuesday getting "The Village Scoop" in Colchester prepared for next weekend's opening date.

The ice cream shop was open this time last year, but now owners hope this cold weather won't keep too many people away.

"We love to plan to open in March regardless of the weather because it's Vermont. It's been a long, cold winter and we're just ready. So we'll be ready in the snow or not, for the spring and for the ice cream," said employee Meg Terrien.

If the cold weather doesn't deter you, the Colchester shop will be scooping ice cream beginning Easter Sunday.
