TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. -
One year has passed since a teen from Tupper Lake, New York vanished. A parent's worst nightmare.
18 year old Colin Gillis was last seen walking on Route 3. His driver's license was found, but that's the only piece of evidence.
In April, we went out on a search with Colin's dad. Police say this is still an open and active case and if you have any information, report it.
"We would rather run down 100 bad tips than miss two good ones because that one chance sighting that person you saw walking on the shoulder of the road or you overheard a conversation at a restaurant or a tavern, that may be the key," Essex County Sheriff Richard Cutting said.
You may remember hearing about Israel Keyes; he's the serial killer who confessed to killing a Vermont couple, Bill and Lorraine Currier.
Well, police aren't ruling out the fact that Keyes could be a possibility.
Investigators know for sure that he spent time in that area.
