EDMONTON, March 11, 2013 /CNW/ - I would like to congratulate the Northern Ontario Team, skipped by Brad Jacobs, on their victory at the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier. It was a great Canadian Men's Curling Championship.

As Minister of State (Sport), I also wish to thank the organizers and volunteers for their dedication in bringing the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier to life. To the family, friends, coaches, and spectators, I want to thank you for your continued interest in this sport.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish Brad Jacobs, third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden, lead Ryan Harnden, and coach Tom Coulterman all the best as they continue their pursuit of excellence at the Ford World Men's Curling Championship, which will be held from March 30 to April 7, 2013, in Victoria, British Columbia.
