Northern VT Hospital Received Bomb Threat Sunday Night, Nothing Suspicious Found

NEWPORT CITY, Vt. -

A northern Vermont hospital received a bomb threat Sunday night.

According to police, the North Country Hospital in Newport, Vt. received a call around 9:30 p.m. stating that a bomb was going to go off at the hospital.

Newport City Police, Newport City Fire Department, and Vermont State Police conducted a search inside and outside the hospital as well as adjacent medical offices and nothing suspicious was found.

Police say there investigation led them to a home in Derby, Vt. The homeowner told police he lost his cell phone at a restaurant called The Tavern on Route 5 on Saturday. That person is not a suspect at the time.
