MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Vermont's Attorney General Bill Sorrell is hosting a public forum on Vermont law enforcement's use of tasers Monday morning.
According to a press release, include several presentations regarding the current training of law enforcement, current policies on the use of tasers, and the risk and benefits of using them.
FOX44 and ABC22 reporter Nick Natario says that a Vermont State Police taser trainer told panel members since the department got tasers in 2011 there has been 110,225 cases and just 80 displays & 70 deployments.
Members of the public are invited to provide comments on the use of tasers in the state of Vermont.
The forum will include a panel consisting of State Senator Alice Nitka, State Representative Bill Lippert, Vermont ACLU Executive Director Allen Gilbert, Ed Paquin from Disability Rights Vermont, and Attorney General Bill Sorrell.
The public forum is being held in the Pavilion Building located at 109 State Street in Montpelier, Vt.
