It's that time of year again! Daylight Saving Time begins at 2am Sunday, March 10!
So, what does that mean for you and me besides loosing an hour of precious sleep? It means the days get longer, the nights get shorter, and generally speaking we make the transition into spring time! The history of it? Check out this link from timeanddate.com!
On Saturday, the sunset was right around 5:50pm, but by Sunday, we'll tack on about an hour of daylight with the sunset occurring at about 6:52pm! By the end of this month, March 31, sunset will occur at around 7:18pm!
As for sunrise, it was around 6:17am Saturday, and will happen at about 7:15am Sunday March 10. But by the end of the month, March 31, sunrise is back at 6:36 am as the Earth continues it's tilt toward the sun. Here we come, springtime!
As a friendly reminder, this is also an excellent and recommended time to change out the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors!
