BURLINGTON, Vt. -
If you're one of the billion people on Facebook, expect to soon see some major changes.
Facebook is rolling out a new news feed page. And it will soon be coming to your account.
"News feed is one of the most important services that we've built. It takes all of the things that your friends are doing and it puts them right in front of you so that you can see them in one place," says Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder and CEO.
On Thursday, Zuckerberg announced the news feed will change how people keep up with their friends, family and favorite pages.
"Now because of the history of news feed its easy to think about it as just a single stream of content, but our goal is actually a lot broader. What we're trying to do is give everyone in the world the best personalized news paper we can," says Zuckerberg.
The switch means a new space to show the billions of photos and videos that are being posted to the site each month.
We asked on our Facebook page what you thought about the change. Most people said their news feed hadn't changed yet.
But at least one person was skeptical.
Judy Brown Dyess commented, "none of the changes in the past have been user friendly, just waiting to see what they can mess up this time."
Maybe there should be some skepticism.
Facebook says the news feed change is also an attempt to learn more about its users and keep people coming back so the company can sell more advertising.
