ADDISON, Vt. -
The lights on the Lake Champlain Bridge have never fully worked. And now, more than a year since it was built, people in the area are fed up.
We first told you about this in October, when a viewer asked us to look into it.
The bridge is a vital link that connects Addison Vermont and Crown Point New York, and while you can drive across - no problem, people on both sides think the 76 million dollar project should go to full use for those on foot.
There are supposed to be lights on the arch and handrail. We spoke with the New York State Department of Transportation... They are well aware of the problem, but can't investigate it until it warms up, because the wiring is too brittle.
"Half of this side's off and half the other side is off, there's things missing in the middle, it's ridiculous," Diane Whitmarsh said.
The Department of Transportation plans to start fixing the bridge lights this spring!
They don't anticipate money being an issue.
