VICTORY, Vt. -
Police are investigating a snowmobile crash on Kirby Mountain Road in Victory, Vt. Wednesday night.
According to Vermont State Police, the operator Darrell McLaughlin, 54, of Lancaster, N.H., was driving the snowmobile too fast, lost control and struck a tree.
Speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
Police say McLaughlin was transported to Weeks Hospital by CALEX Ambulance Service to be treated for his injuries.
The snowmobile, a 2005 Artic Cat ZR900, had minor damage to the hood and right ski.
Police say they are still investigating the crash.
