BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A CCTA bus was struck by an object, injuring several people, and it was caught on camera.
Police say the bus was driving east on Riverside Avenue in Burlington Tuesday. Near the intersection with Bright Street police say a 5/16 socket from a socket wrench broke a bus window and entered the bus.
CCTA says up to 30 people were on the bus. Police say several people were either hit or hurt. None of them had to be treated.
"They were not seriously injured. The window dissipated the force," says Corporal Jamie Morris, Burlington Police Department.
Right now police are holding off on naming the person responsible.
"At this point, we're not sure if it was an intentional act but it was launched with a considerable amount of force to be of concern so we're still investigating that," says Morris.
Police say they should know by Tuesday whether charges will be filed.
As for the bus, CCTA says it's already been repaired and is back in service.
