SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The City of South Burlington could be headed in a new direction when a new council starts meeting next week.
People in the city chose to toss out two current city councilors and replace them with new ones. Many had seen the races as a referendum on the previous council.
The council chair, who was not running this year, says she has no regrets including pushing for more open space in the city.
"As Lincoln said, you can't please all the people all the time and there are some people you can never please. But I still think those values had to be voiced," says Rosanne Greco, South Burlington City Council chair.
Greco says she thinks the result might have a lot to do with the campaigns. She says negativity and money helped win these races.
