Vermont State Police say one of the men accused of aggravated sexual assault and sex trafficking has committed suicide.

Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Vermont State Police in Brattleboro received a call about a possible suicide on Wardsboro Road in Newfane, Vt.

Police say they positively identified the male as Frank Meyer, 39, of West Haven, Conn.

An autopsy is being conducted at the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Burlington, Vt. on Wednesday.

Meyer and Brett Bartolotta, 42, of Cavendish, Vt. are accused of sexually assaulting a man for the past 12 years in Ludlow, Vt. He was just 12 years old when the assaults started.

According to court documents, the victim said between ages 12 and 16 he had sex with Meyer 300 to 400 times and had sex with Bartolotta between 600 and 800. He had sex with Bartolotta at least 100 times here in Vermont.

Meyer and Bartolotta were in court on Thursday and were released after posting bail. They were both due back in court later this month.
