BRADFORD, Vt. -
In updated results from the Bradford, Vt. town clerk, residents approved a gun control measure that was on the town warning.
The measure, Article 17 of the Bradford Town Warning, asked voters if the town
should instruct their federal and state legislators to ban assault
weapons and high capacity ammunition magazines, require a criminal
background check for every gun sold in America, and make federal gun
trafficking a federal crime, with real penalties for "straw purchasers"
(those who arm criminals).
The updated results show that 57 voted yes, to 43 voting no for article.
On Tuesday, officials from Bradford, Vt. said residents voted down the measure 44 to 45.
