Plattsburgh, NY Man Arrested For Calling 911 Multiple Times Without an Emergency

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

A New York man was arrested for calling 911 multiple times for non-emergencies early Thursday morning.

Police say around 4 a.m., Joseph LaMare, 24, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., called 911 five separate times. Each time LaMare was warned to stop calling the emergency line without any emergency or he would be charged.

Police say LaMare was calling the E911 center while attempting to walk home in an impaired state.

Officers located LaMare near his home on South Peru street and took him into custody.

He was charged with 2nd degree aggravated harassment.

LaMare was committed to Clinton County Jail under $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
