COLCHESTER, Vt. -

Al Voegele, the current Colchester Town Manager, is retiring after 10.5 years of service with the town.

On Tuesday, the Colchester, Vt. Selectboard unanimously extended an offer of the town manager position to Dawn Francis, of Hinesburg, Vt.

A press release says they chose Francis after an extensive and inclusive interview process involving three different groups the town employees, a citizens group, and the selectboard.

"Dawn has experience navigating the municipal, regional and state levels of government, and more importantly, is known for being personable, approachable and having a track record of getting tough things done," Selectboard Chair Dick Pacquette said.

Francis will begin work with the town in late April.
