RICHMOND, Vt. -
Police arrested a man accused of stealing approximately $3,000 worth of jewelry from a home in the Jonesville section of Richmond, Vt.
Police say in October 2012 they advised the victim to go to local jewelry dealers and pawn shops in the area to see if the stolen jewelry could be identified.
While checking a coin and jewelry dealer, the business owner was able provide photos of the jewelry belonging to the victim and seller John Nolan.
Police say they worked with probation and parole and were able to identify the suspect as 31-year-old Christopher Lafreniere. He denied any involvement in the burglary. Police say based on evidence they found it was clear he was in possession of the stolen jewelry.
Lafreniere is due in court in the beginning of April.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Richmond Police Department at (802)-434-2156.
