MONTPELIER, Vt. -
The House Health Care Committee took a revote on the sugar tax that they voted down last week.
According to FOX44 and ABC22 reporter Nick Natario, the committee voted 7-4 in favor of the penny-per-ounce sugar tax.
Supporters say it could discourage consumption of products that contribute to obesity.
However, opponents say the tax will send more shoppers out of state.
Natario will have more on this story on ABC22 at 6,7 & FOX44 at 10 p.m.
