BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A new parking plan for downtown Burlington, Vt. aims to bring in better business.
The zoning commissioner says the new plan would not require developers to put in parking spaces and would help make housing more affordable.
"We've heard loud and clear from the development community is that it is a major deterrent its very expensive and our parking requirements don't always match what the parking need is of the developer," David White, Burlington Zoning and Planning Director, said.
The plan still has to be approved by the city council.
The zoning commissioner says he's optimistic it will pass.
