White House Releases State-By-State Impacts of Sequester

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

The White House released state-by-state impacts on the looming sequester, which would be felt by families and businesses across the country.

President Obama says Congress still has time to reach a deal, provided it includes more tax increases to go along with the spending cuts.

Republicans say they already passed two bills to replace the President's sequester.

"So the question is: Why won't he work with us? And the answer, quite simply, is because he wants higher taxes," Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) said.

A few of the programs not affected include medicaid, social security, and food stamps.

Congress and President Obama have until March 1 to work out a deal.
