ST. ALBANS, Vt. -

UPDATE: On Tuesday night, St. Albans police told FOX 44, Logan Newell died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

They say it appears something may be wrong with the vehicle's exhaust.

A male was found unresponsive at the Park & Ride at the intersection of Route 104 & 36 Sunday in St. Albans, Vt.

Police say a 22-year-old male called police after he tried knocking on the driver's window in an attempt to rouse the young man.

When police arrived they found the young man slumped forward over the steering wheel. The young man was later identified as Logan Newell, 17 of Georgia,  Vt.

Newell was transported to Northwest Medical Center after emergency personnel tried to resuscitate him at the scene.

The vehicle, registered to Newell's mother, is in police custody for processing.

Police say there is no evidence of foul play and Newell's cause of death is unknown at this time.

Franklin Central Supervisory Union Interim Superintendent Julie Regimbal says Newell was a junior at BFA-St. Albans & Northwest Technical Center.
