RANDOLPH, Vt. -

A man is dead after being run over by a tanker at the Cumberland Farms on Central Street in Randolph, Vt. Tuesday.

Police say, as freight truck and fuel oil tanker driver, Robert Sheridan, 56, of Randolph, Vt., was getting inside his truck, 51-year-old Peter Maraget laid down in front of the truck's passenger-side rear wheels. Sheridan stopped after he felt the truck run over something.

Maraget was transported to Gifford Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
