ST. ALBANS, Vt. -

A follow up on the Murder for Hire plot to kill pop singer Justin Bieber.

FOX44 and ABC22 reported these two men Mark Staake and Tanner Ruane have ties to Vermont.

It started when Dana Martin sent letters to the star which went unanswered.

Martin confessed to his plan to kidnap, strangle and castrate Bieber.

Staake and Ruane, who were going to carry out the attack, were arrested.

Now the recorded phone calls from prison have been released. Laying out the plan to kill Bieber.

Dana Martin: "Did he go over the Bieber thing with you?"
Tanner Ruane: "Nuh uh. The way I work, dude, the way I work is like to know as little as possible. We went and we bought some, you know, ***** hedge clippers.
You're going to give me five large ($5,000) for each one I get."

Martin is already in prison. He's serving 2 life sentences for 15-year-old Deandra Florucci's rape and murder in 2000.

Staake and Ruane face multiple charges in the case.
