I must say, I had a nice realization today! I usually get to work, and get down to business in my (window free) weather "cave", as I call it. By the time I get a forecast banged out and make my way out to the newsroom (that has windows), it's typically already dark. But alas, not today! For some reason, I realized it today that the sky was actually still quite bright! It's so nice to have the days get longer once again.
Sunset "these days" is right around 5:30pm, about 45 minutes later than 1 month ago, and about 70 minutes later than 2 months ago in mid December!
Believe it or not, we are less than 3 weeks away from the start of Daylight Saving Time! March 10 is the day we set the clocks forward by 1 hour. Once we get there, the sun won't go down until the clock reads 6:52pm! Many look forward to longer days and shorter nights. For those just daydreaming about summer time weather, not to worry, it will come around as quickly as it seems to leave each year.
