Northeast Organic Farmer's Association of Vermont's 31st Annual Winter Conference Held Sunday

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Even in the dead of winter, a farmer's work never stops.

At the University of  Vermont Sunday, the Northeast Organic Farmer's Association of Vermont held their 31st annual winter conference Sunday.

More than a thousand people showed up for work shops and demonstrations, everything from bee keeping to large scale commercial farming.

Organizers hope more and more people join the organic growing community.

"It is a movement, but it is also a community. And it's an incredible opportunity for people to come together annually, to share best practices, to introduce new people to this movement and for people to re kindle relationships with people they've known before and really gear up for the next season," Enid Wonnacott, Executive Director of NOFA-Vt., said.

One thing conference goers were especially happy about, the number of young people who showed up with an interest in organic farming.
