WEST CHAZY, N.Y. -
On Route 22 in West Chazy Thursday, New York State Police pulled over 33-year old William B Lafountain of Mooers, NY.
And inside his car.
"They discovered the precursors to making meth," New York State Police Lieutenant Brent Davison said.
Not even hidden from police.
"I believe it was in plain sight," LT. Davison said.
This arrest in West Chazy makes it twice already this year already that state police have pulled someone over and arrested them because they found meth ingredients in their car. The other time an entire meth lab was in operation.
Though the ingredients are transported on wheels state police say it's the addictive qualities that are moving meth.
"It just starts to spread like wild fire. It just takes one or two people to introduce it to an area and then it just continues to grow," LT. Davison said.
With ingredients readily available and legal, tracking every meth lead is tough if not impossible. It's why New York State Police hope you can help them spot potential meth ingredients and users.
"We have way more on our plate than we can deal with right now. It's a battle we will continue to wage but we only have so many resources available to us," LT. Davison said.
"That's why we ask for the public's help in anyway they can provide it to help us identify who these people are."
