NH Public Works Adding Women's Prison to Budget

CONCORD, N.H. -

New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan is proposing a $129 million General Fund Public Works Budget.

The AP reports that she wants to spend $38 million of that to build a new women's prison.

The House Public Works Chairman David Campbell says the 328 project could be divided into two budget cycles depending on if the prison could be built in 2 years.

He says it might make sense to put some money in this budget for design and siting work and finish it in the next budget.
