BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A man was arrested for a road rage incident in Burlington, Vt. Wednesday.
Police say 34-year-old Matija Gubic, driving a Jeep Cherokee on Route 127 and onto North Avenue, and was being tailgated by another driver. When Gubic slowed down in the area of Saratoga Avenue, the car moved into the left lane to pass him. As the car was doing so, police say, Gubic drew a .45 caliber semi automatic pistol and pointed it out his open driver's side window at the male victim.
The gun was not fired and the two motorists separated at the intersection of North Avenue and Ethan Allen Parkway without further incident.
Gubic was arrested without incident at his Burlington home. Officers say they were able to recover the handgun that was allegedly used in the incident.
Gubic was charged with Aggravated Assault and was lodged with the Vermont Department of Corrections for lack of $10,000 bail. Aggravated Assault is a felony and is punishable by a term of imprisonment not to exceed more than five years or a fine of not more than $5,000.00, or both.
