NY's Top Judge Open to Camera Coverage in Courtrooms

New York state's top judge wants courtrooms open to camera coverage in order for New Yorkers to see how the justice system works.

Chief Judge Jonathon Lippman calls for changing the state law so that people can learn how laws are interpreted, rights are determined, criminals are punished, and tax dollars are spent.

The AP reports that Lawmakers passed a law allowing cameras in courtrooms 25 years ago on an experimental basis, but that lapsed about 10 years ago.
