Vermont Senate to Vote on Death With Dignity Bill Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
MONTPELIER, Vt. -

A big vote for the Vermont Senate Tuesday as they make a decision on the physician assisted suicide bill.

FOX44 and ABC22 reporter Nick Natario says Senators are debating the bill right now and will be voting soon on the bill.

They plan to vote on whether to follow recommendation of the Senate Judiciary Committee that rejected the bill.

On Friday, that committee said they were against the legislation after the Health and Welfare Committee voted unanimously in support of it.

If the measure clears the Senate, it would still call for action by the Vermont House.

The House and Governor Peter Shumlin support the bill.
