People came from all over the world to race in a skating marathon Sunday held in North Hero, Vt.
This is the first time the marathon was held there.
This too was almost canceled because of the winter storm. Luckily for the participants who came from as far away as Virginia and the Netherlands, it was not.
"We have 30 skaters that turned out for this event which is quite a lot. Especially with the snow storm that happened today and the day before," Gaetan Rochette, Board Member of the Marathon Skating International, said.
"The people here did such a good job of just maintaining the track through the entire storm...I mean they should all get battlefield pay. It was just really really impressive," Marilyn Holbeck, race participant, said.
This skating marathon was just one of the many in a series of skating marathons all over North America.
