We are certainly in for snow on Friday! Make sure you are keeping up with our Sky Tracker forecast (click to see). With 1-2 feet potentially for some of our region, it brings to question...is this the biggest storm ever?
Simply put, probably not. But it's definitely on the high end of snowstorms. At least by our forecast, this will probably come close to breaking into (if not actually breaking in to) the top 20 snowstorms in the Burlington area. See the image (top left), to see the top 20 greatest Burlington area snowstorms. The number 20 spot had 16.8" of snowfall in one shot. We will certainly rival this.
Looking at February storms alone, we probably won't exceed the greatest February snowstorm total of 25.7" (as you probably recall on Valentine's Day in 2007- see image on the bottom left to see the V-Day swath of snow, or click here for a nice writeup from NWS BTV on that storm), it will certainly be a high impact storm.
Snowfall climatology data is only kept in Burlington across our viewing area (northern NY, VT, and interior NH). Other nearby climate locations include Concord, NH and Albany, NY. Click here to see local climate information for each region.
