PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
Trevor Donah, 33, is the man police say raped two women in Clinton County New York.
Horrible crimes that he's supposed to prevent not be accused of committing because Donah works at the New York State Police barracks in Plattsburgh as a trooper.
Court papers released Wednesday accuse Donah of targeting two women he knew while he was off duty.
The first incident took place in June of 2010 in Beekmantown.
And the second one, papers show happened in the City of Plattsburgh last September.
Although police say both incidents took place in Clinton County, the local district attorney won't be handling the case.
That's because of a conflict of interest that arose in the prosecutor's office.
When we asked Wednesday what that might be, the DA refused to say.
Instead, Franklin County District Attorney Derek Champagne will handle the case.
He also was tight lipped Wednesday when we asked him for information.
But court papers show he'll be presenting his case Friday in front of the grand jury.
As for Donah, he's suspended after serving five years as a state trooper out of Plattsburgh barracks.
State records also show Donah made more than $86,000 dollars in 2010.
But now he's collecting nothing until state police complete an internal investigation.
Donah is being held in the Clinton County jail Wednesday night because he hasn't posted $50,000 dollars bail.
He doesn't have to show up for the grand jury Friday, that's optional, but he is required to show up in court Monday.
