MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Governor Shumlin heads south Wednesday in an effort to bring the Green Mountain State more money and jobs.
Shumlin will be in Florida to pitch the EB-5 program to foreign investors.
His efforts could secure $600 million for projects and new developments and 10,000 new jobs for the Northeast Kingdom.
For example, EB-5 money is paying for the expansion in Jay. Taxpayers will not be footing this bill.
"We felt this was a better way to guarantee that the state was providing the resources to promote the program, but the investors were paying the bill," Shumlin said.
Governor Shumlin will be in the Sunshine State for 3 days.
