BOLTON, Vt. -
If Vermont's Green Mountain Club has its way, a new route for a popular long distance hiking trail will break ground by June.
The AP reports that the trial would be in Bolton, Vt.
This move would resolve a 100 year mission to find a safe and permanent route for the long trail to cross the Winooski River.
The club needs to raise $50,000 for the foot bridge and says a donor will match every donation up to that amount until the end of August.
It already raised more than $500,000 for the project.
