WATERBURY, Vt. -
The town of Waterbury is getting some help in its recovery from Tropical Storm Irene.
Vermont Public Radio reports the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board awarded more than $1 million in state and federal funds to two housing groups.
The housing groups will use that money to buy the former state office building located downtown and turn that into 27 new affordable apartments.
The building has sat vacant since the 2011 storm.
