PERU, Vt. -

A woman suffered serious injuries after crashing her snowmobile in Peru, Vt. on Sunday.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. on 7N of the VAST snowmobile trails.

Officials say while heading north on Mad Tom Notch Road, 45-year-old Pamela Goulet lost control of her Ski Do snowmobile when she tried to make a left turn.

That's when they say the snowmobile rolled over.

Her son, who was with her on a separate snowmobile, managed to find cell service and call for help.

He stayed with her until several units arrived including Londonderry Rescue, Winahll and Peru Fire Departments and the Southern Vermont Snowmobile Law Enforcement Task Force.

Goulet was eventually airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

The crash was located on corridor 7N of the V.A.S.T. snowmobile system of trails.
