SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
We are just days away from a big day for football fans.
While the Patriots and Giants won't be in the Super Bowl this year, you can bet a lot of people will still throw parties on Sunday.
"We've been preparing for two weeks," says Benjamin Lee, Buffalo Wild Wings general manager.
Lee laid out the game plan for the Super Bowl. Everyone is working and they will be cooking up 27 cases or 7,200 wings.
"We placed our order Monday and it's going to be coming in this weekend of about double that," says Lee.
There had been reports of a chicken wing shortage. While that might not be true, you might pay more at some places.
In South Burlington, Leonardo's Pizza general manager Trevor Michalak says they expect to prepare some 300 pizzas on Sunday.
"I think it is maybe the busiest day," says Michalak. "Full staff basically at night. The phones keep ringing and pizzas keeping popping out. Non-stop."
Of course you'll need something to drink. To find the best, local, adult options we went to Beverage Warehouse in Winooski.
For most Super Bowl foods, beer & wine manager Evan Goldfried suggests IPA's.
"Super Bowl foods tend to be more on the aggressive side of pairings. They tend to be spicy like buffalo wings," says Goldfried.
Goldfried's IPA suggestions include ones from Harpoon and The Shed. For less spicy foods including chili, Goldfried suggests the Rock Art Barley Wine Ale.
He says everything goes well with pizza.
We're told some of people's favorite local beers have already sold out. And get orders for everything in early to make sure your party won't be missing something.
