ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -
A fire broke out at Wendy's in Essex Junction, Vt. Wednesday morning. The restaurant is closed for the day.
According to Essex Town Fire Chief Charles Cole, the fire started in one of the rooftop heating units.
Fire crews are inside taking ceiling tiles apart and working to extinguish hot spots. Cole says they are working from inside and from the roof to get through multiple layers of the building.
The damage is isolated to the roof of the structure and damages could be around $50,000.
Multiple fire crews were on scene including Colchester Fire Department.
