No Criminal Charges for Vermont Trooper Who Used Taser

Posted: Updated:
MONTPELIER, Vt. -

The Vermont Attorney General's Office says no charges will be filed against the state trooper who used a taser gun on a Thetford man who died of a heart attack caused by the shock.

In June 2012, police said Macadam Mason, 39, called a crisis line, indicating he might harm himself or others. State troopers went to his home and tried to settle him down, but police say Mason moved aggressively, with his fist raised, toward a trooper. Mason was shot in the chest by the stun gun.  He was later pronounced dead.
