RUTLAND, Vt. -

Rutland Police responded to a gas station burglary overnight Tuesday.

The Mobil on West Street was hit and $3,000 in cigarettes were stolen.

That wasn't all. There was an attempted break-in at another station too.

Rutland Police have been hard at work trying to figure out who's responsible.

"Crazy busy," Sgt. James Tarbell, of the Rutland City Police, said. "We don't know if the two are related or not but there's been a lot of activity."

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Rutland City Police at (802)-773-9101.
