RUTLAND, Vt. -

Rutland Police are investigating a rash of car vandalisms in the city.

Police say 50 vehicles had their windows shot out with a pellet gun. No injuries were reported.

The earliest reports were received sometime around midnight, but the bulk of the calls came around 3 a.m. Wednesday. Calls came in from the southwest section of the city and then spread out. A few business were also hit.

Police expect the number of vehicles hit to rise because they're still getting calls.

Police say this is a widespread incident and they believe the person(s) involved were in a vehicle and used a pellet gun.

If arrested, due to the dollar amount, it will result in a felony.
