Success Keeps Brewing for Local Vermont Brewery

WATERBURY, Vt. -

Success keeps brewing for one of Vermont's best known beer-makers.

At the Alchemist Brewery output of the Heady Topper brew is doubling.

The results of the increased production head to store shelves in Vermont this month.

After Tropical Storm Irene destroyed the tavern in Waterbury, Vt. they've been working non-stop to keep up with demand.

The brewery only had four fermenters and now 24 head the line to keep up.

"I think this is as big as we're gonna get...we'll stay in this building. I know people will say you're gonna grow, but I don't think that's true..how much is enough? We want to keep that quality and keep the lifestyle for employees and that's the way to do it," John Kimmich, Co-owner of the Alchemist Brewing Company.

By Spring the Alchemist hopes to make small quantities of other speciality beers that were favorites at the Old Tavern.
