A big turnout is expected at a town hall meeting in Sheffield, Vt., as residents hear about the future of their rural post office.
Community meetings are being held throughout the country to discuss the U.S. Postal Service's plan for the offices.
Sheffield's is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
David Burke, who residents call their post master, but whose title is actually post master relief, tells the Caledonian-Record said the Sheffield Post Office is facing reduced hours, cutting it back to four hours a day.
Other post offices in the area also are facing reduced hours.
