Price Chopper Pharmacist Charged With Prescription Fraud

ST. ALBANS and ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -

A Price Chopper pharmacist has been charged with prescription fraud.

Vermont State Police say 27-year-old Thomas Fortier, of Elmira, N.Y. wrote and filled 11 fraudulent prescriptions for himself in New York and Vermont. Four of the prescriptions were filled in Vermont for Hydrocodone, Diazepam and Alprazolam.

Police say the offenses took place in Vermont from September 6 to November 11, 2012 at Price Chopper pharmacies in St. Albans and Essex Junction, Vt.

Fortier is due in Chittenden County Criminal Court in March.
