Spots Still Open For Vermont's Annual Pond Hockey Classic

ST. ALBANS, Vt. -

This marks the fifth year for Vermont's annual Pond Hockey Classic.

Now it's an official non-profit.

All funds raised go to the St. Albans Skating Association and the Missisquoi Amateur Hockey Association.

This year, organizers are expecting at least 100 participants and more than 500 spectators.

If you want to take part, you're in luck. Spots are still open for teams who want to play.

"We want to give back to our local recreation that helped raise us with such great opportunity. A lot of us have skated well beyond BFA Bobwhite hockey," Derek Brown, Event Director of the Vermont Pond Hockey Classic, said.

It all takes places on the Fairfield Pond January 18 and 19.
