A hiker who went missing Tuesday afternoon is safe.
Arthur Treanor, 55, of Morristown, Vt., went hiking Tuesday on the Catamount Trails in Elmore around 1:30 p.m. Those trails go around Elmore Mountain and end up in Morristown. He was supposed to arrive in Morristown 4 hours later but failed to show up.
Stowe Mountain Rescue, the Elmore Fire Department, Vermont State Troopers and Vermont State Game Wardens searched the area for Treanor.
Rescuers found him around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in the woods near Micklin Farm Road. Treanor was escorted out of the woods and officials say he's in good health.
